Police Search for Owner of 'Heirloom' Wedding Dress Blown by Tornadoes

So far, no bride has stepped forward to claim the gown.

— -- It wasn’t something borrowed or blue, but rather, this wedding dress was tossed in a storm.

This “heirloom” wedding gown was discovered by a newspaper delivery man in a box tossed on a hillside by the Mississippi River on Wednesday morning.

He gave the satin and lace gown to the police, who say it’s definitely one of the most unique possessions they’ve discovered from the wreckage.

“I’m not an expert in wedding dresses but it does look like an older dress that might have been a family heirloom or something,” said Themas.

Le Claire police are now looking to find the dress' owner, posting a message on the department's Facebook page, which has now been shared nearly 2,000 times.

So far, no bride has stepped forward to claim the gown.

“We haven’t heard anything from anybody at this point,” said Themas. “That’s why we put the information out there. To find somebody that knows somebody who might be missing it.”

Themas doesn’t believe the dress was tossed onto the hillside for any reason other than the storm.
