Woman Searches for Mystery Couple Seen in Lost Vacation Photos

Meredith Lutz Cabarrus of Boston Massachusetts found a couple's lost camera.

— -- A Massachusetts woman is hoping to track down a mystery couple seen in photos she found on a camera lost 8,000 miles away from her home.

"I was viewing through the pictures and saw this very cute couple," Meredith Lutz Cabarrus of Boston, Massachusetts told ABC News. "It's so sad. I said, 'I would hate for them to lose their vacation photos'. "...We will get their camera [and photos] back to them, so these memories aren't lost on the floor of a taxicab in Hong Kong."

"I looked around to see if anyone was chasing after the cab," she said. "[In the photos], it looks like they're looking out over Victoria Harbour."

As for clues to the couple's whereabouts, Cabarrus said the only hint she has to go off of is the language selection on the camera, which is set to German.

On Jan. 12, Cabarrus shared photos from the camera on her Facebook page.

"This is a long shot, but does anyone recognize this couple?" she wrote. "We found their camera in a taxi in Hong Kong on December 31, 2015. Based on the language setting on the camera, we think they're German. They seem like such a lovely couple, we want to get their camera and vacation pics back to them!!"

Cabarrus said she hopes people will continue to share her post in an attempt to track down the rightful owners of the vacation photos.
