4-Year-Old Gets Halloween Surprise From Military Dad
This year, Jayden Hayes' costume was a U.S. Army soldier in tribute of his dad.
-- One boy received an unforgettable treat just days ahead of Halloween, when his military father surprised him at a neighborhood party.
"It was a surprise my wife set up," Jermaine Hayes of Gainesville, Florida, told ABC News. "I was just supposed to meet him while he was out trick-or-treating. [I]t was a surprise for me and him."
Jayden Hayes, 4, was missing his father, who's an Air Force staff sergeant stationed in Iraq.
This year, Jayden insisted on dressing as a U.S. Army soldier for Halloween in tribute of his father.
"It was very hard for his dad not to be around while he was deployed," mom Kavasia Hayes told ABC News.
Hayes surprised his son at a hometown Halloween party just days before the holiday.
The heartfelt moment was captured on video as Jayden hugged his dad.
The pair will be trick-or-treating together now that dad is home.
