New Year's Resolutions You'll Actually Be Able to Keep

Realistic resolutions to ring in 2015.

— -- Bigger isn't always better. When it comes to New Year's resolutions, sometimes it's best to start out small.

Sure, it's great if you want to become a supermodel or publish a best-selling novel, but maybe your resolution should be something more realistic -- like vowing to hit the gym or to start writing. And if you surpass your expectations, even better!

Here are some resolutions you'll be able to stick to in 2015:

DO vow to learn new words. Get a calendar or sign up for an email that sends you one new word every day. Or, just download the Dictionary.com app to your smartphone, and when you come across a word you don't know, look it up!

DON'T try to master Mandarin, a la Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg.

DO try to go to the gym. Maybe not every day. But sometimes, OK?

DO call your mom more. She loves you.

DON'T vow to host Thanksgiving and Christmas dinner next year, and invite your entire family to stay at your house. Seriously, that just won't go well.

DO eliminate one bad food from your diet.

DON'T pretend you're really never going to eat carbs again.

DO vow to cook more.

DON'T swear that you're finished with Seamless. Sometimes, you just need to order in.
