A video tour of Milan Design Week

ABC News goes inside the lavish rooms of an exhibition.

— -- Starting out as a small furniture fair in the 1960s, Milan Design Week, or Salone del Mobile as it is known in Italian, has grown into a massive celebration that overtakes the northern Italian metropolis each year.

The public is invited to attend events put on by design brands, as well as large corporations like Lexus, which have made their presence in Milan increasingly known in recent years. Design professionals from all over the world attend lectures, product launches and discuss the industry.

The home hosts an exhibition of works by emerging and established designers, organized by AirBnB, as well as a series of exclusive events such as a private concert by the orchestra of world-renowned opera house, La Scala.

The exhibition’s curator, Martina Mondadori Sartogo, founder of design magazine Cabana, gives ABC’s Sarah Hucal an insider look at the collection and the lavish rooms of the Casa degli Atellani.
