Meet the students reporting from North Carolina.

Jan. 15, 2009— -- Zach Ferriola-Bruckenstein is a senior at UNC focusing on graphic design and multimedia. In addition to his job as with ABC on Campus, Ferriola-Bruckenstein works as a freelance graphic designer, animator and Web developer. He also works as a teaching assistant for a class on advanced Flash programming and serves as the vice president of UNC's chapter of the Society for News Design. Zach's journalism experience includes a summer 2008 internship at National Geographic Magazine in Washington D.C., where he worked in the art and graphics department.

Walter Storholt is a senior at UNC. In addition to serving as a reporter for ABC News On Campus, Walter is the sports anchor for UNC's award-winning student television news program "Carolina Week." He also co-hosts and produces the weekly radio news show, "Carolina Connection." He is a play-by-play commentator for Carolina Olympic sporting event video broadcasts on ACC Select. Outside the journalism school Walter does play-by-play radio announcing for high school football and basketball. And he not only talks about sports all day long but plays them as well. Walter is the starting goalie for UNC's Club Roller Hockey team.

Carly Swain is a senior at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. In addition to her duties as the ABC On Campus Bureau Chief, Carly is deeply involved with "Carolina Week," the school's Emmy award-winning student news broadcast. She directs many newscasts, anchors others and contributes content as a reporter. This year Carly also serves as president of the Nation Broadcasting Society Chapter at UNC. Carly's broadcast experience includes a summer 2007 internship at WCCB (Fox Charlotte). She returned to the station as an employee the following summer, working in production. During her summers in Charlotte, Carly volunteers with a local young actors' workshop as a contributing writer and editor for original plays, a coach and an assistant director.
