Romney embarks on a battleground state bus tour, plus more to watch for this weekend in politics

— -- Mitt Romney will kick off a five-day, six-state bus tour on Friday that starts in New Hampshire and will take him through the battlegrounds of Pennsylvania, Ohio, Wisconsin, Iowa and Michigan — all of which were won by President Barack Obama in 2008. Our reporter Holly Bailey will be on the tour with Romney, and you can get live updates from the road by following her on Twitter.

On Saturday, Romney will give a speech via video conference to the Faith and Freedom Conference that's happening in Washington. On Sunday, he'll appear on "Face The Nation" on CBS. It will be his first Sunday morning interview show appearance this year that isn't "Fox News Sunday."

Obama will mark LGBT Pride Month by holding a reception at the White House on Friday. This month is the first gay pride month since Obama declared his support for gay marriage. The reception comes a day after it was revealed that the Pentagon is planning its first-ever event to recognize gay and lesbian troops, nine months after the repeal of "don't ask, don't tell."

Vice President Joe Biden will be in Florida on Friday, speaking at the annual meeting of the U.S. Conference of Mayors in Orlando. The conference started on Wednesday and wraps up on Saturday.

Ohio Sen. Rob Portman, whose name is being floated as a possible Romney vice presidential pick, will campaign for the presumptive Republican presidential nominee in North Carolina on Friday. Obama won the state in 2008, and it will be home to the Democratic National Committee's convention this year. On Sunday, Portman will join Romney in the senator's home state, along with House Speaker John Boehner (also an Ohioan), when Romney stops there on his bus tour.

Also on Sunday, first lady Michelle Obama will deliver the commencement address at Oregon State University. She's delivered two other commencement addresses this year (at Virginia Tech and North Carolina A&T), and the White House says this will be her last one of 2012. Her brother, Craig Robinson, is OSU's head men's basketball coach.

And then there is this: Saturday is the first anniversary of former Rep. Anthony Weiner announcing his resignation from Congress. The announcement came during a tearful press conference after the married New York congressman admitted to tweeting sexually provocative photos and messages to six women.
