Democrats tackle senior issues at AARP Iowa forum

SNEAK PEEK: Dems head to AARP Iowa Forum

September 19, 2007— -- Another week, another Democratic forum. This one focuses on health care and financial security for seniors and is hosted by AARP Iowa.

Hillary Clinton, John Edwards, Joe Biden, Chris Dodd and Bill Richardson -- no Barack Obama –participate in the candidate forum on Thursday, 9/20 at Adler Theater in Davenport, Iowa.

The candidates will be given an opportunity to interact with each other when they field questions from moderator Judy Woodruff. AARP does not endorse candidates but the group will wield its influence when the Iowa branch of the organization distributes voter guides on the '08ers in late October. PBS broadcasts the 90 minute forum live at 8:00 pm ET.

Elsewhere, Obama is in South Carolina for an 11:30 am ET town hall meet and greet in Rock Hill. After that, it's off to Atlanta for an event at Georgia World Center followed by a VIP Reception at 7:00 pm ET and a general reception at 7:30 pm ET

Biden is in Washington DC for Senate business.

Tivo Alert! Former President Bill Clinton appears on "The Daily Show with Jon Stewart" airing at 11:00 pm ET on Comedy Central. Mr. Clinton also appears at the VH1 Save the Music Foundations 10th Anniversary Gala in New York City.

On the Republican side of the trail…Just a glance at the Republican candidates' schedules for Thursday and it's clear that the 3rd quarter fundraising period is quickly coming to a close.

The Republican candidates are hitting the ground running to squeeze in as many money events as possible in the next 10 days.

Mitt Romney raises campaign coin in Washington, DC, Charlotte, Orchard Lake, Michigan. He also a 3:00 pm ET media availability at Taubman Air Terminal in Waterford, MI.

After a highly publicized trip to London, Rudy Giuliani makes his way back to The States where he holds a 4:00 pm ET press availability at the Hyatt Regency in Reston, VA.

John McCain continues his fundraising efforts in Washington, DC, Arlington and McLean

Fred Thompson keeps filling the campaign coffers in the Lone Star State.

Mike Huckabee is in South Carolina for a 7:30 pm ET meet and greet in Lexington; a 9:00 am ET private meeting in Columbia with The State newspaper editorial Board. He then delivers 12:00 pm ET remarks to the Greenville County Republican Women at the Poinsett Club.

The Palmetto Family Council Stump Meeting and Straw Poll takes place at 5:00 pm ET, in Columbia, SC. Sam Brownback, Duncan Hunter and Mike Huckabee attend the event. Tom Tancredo calls in at 6:45 pm ET.

Ron Paul raises campaign coin at a 6:00 pm ET fundraising dinner in Detroit.
