SNEAK PEEK: Al Gore - Nobel Peace Prize?

Clinton, Obama Campaigns Continue Back-and-Forth on Iran Vote

October 11, 2007— -- Early early Friday morning, when the only politicos awake in the U.S. are hardworking, never-sleeping campaign press secretaries, Al Gore may find out he has hit the 2007 trifecta – Oscar, Emmy and Nobel Peace Prize.

The former Vice President will be in California Friday for meetings with the Alliance for Climate Protection.

Tivo Alert! Have the coffee maker set and lay out your clothes tonight so you can focus all of your attention on ABC News' Jake Tapper's exclusive interview with Rudy Giuliani airing Friday on Good Morning America.

The former mayor talks about Mitt's "mistake" on consulting lawyers on Iran, being personally attacked by the Clinton campaign and whether he would do more to catch Osama bin Laden.

Barack Obama keeps hammering away on his fellow Democrats by marking the fifth anniversary of the Iraq war authorization vote with a speech at Drake University in Des Moines Friday morning. In an email to supporters Thursday, Obama calls it "a dark day" and a "bad vote" for the Democratic Party and for the country.

"Too many Democrats followed the politics of the moment and voted to let George Bush invade Iraq," Obama says in the e-mail. "And now we're seeing history repeat itself as the drumbeat builds for a war with Iran. It's going to take your personal involvement to stop the march to the next war, just as it's going to take your commitment to stop the one raging now."

Hillary Clinton launched her own volley in the back-and-forth on Iran and for the first time invoked Sen. Dick Durbin, D-Ill., a top Obama backer, in defending a recent vote she cast in the Senate, ABC News' Eloise Harper and Teddy Davis report.

"It wasn't just me," said Clinton in explaining her recent vote in favor of the Kyl-Lieberman amendment. "One of Senator Obama's principal supporters, his colleague from Illinois, Senator Durbin, who voted against the '02 resolution, voted with me to impose sanctions on the Iranian Revolutionary Guard. So did Senator Levin, who also did not vote for the '02 resolution, so I know that some of my opponents are really trying to misrepresent this and that is their right to try to do that."

Clinton sat down with MSNBC's Keith Olbermann and went further:"I think people have either misunderstood or decided to misrepresent the meaning of that vote," Clinton said. "I believe in using pressure and sanctions as a tool of diplomacy, and that includes against the Iranian Revolutionary Guard."

"Take me out to the ballgame…for a small campaign donation"ABC News' Donna Hunter reports that two lucky baseball fans will get the opportunity to take in Game Six of the American League Championship Series at Fenway Park with Chris Dodd, a self-professed life-long Red Sox fan. A donation of just $20.04 (representing the Red Sox World Series win in 2004) enters your into the raffle for the tickets. If you can't afford to donate to the campaign, the campaign says you can still enter the drawing by recruiting 24 friends to sign up at the Dodd campaign website.

The Red Sox play the Cleveland Indians for the American League pennant – will Dodd still hold up his end of the bargain if the two lucky winners turn out to be supporters from Shaker Heights, OH?

On the campaign trail…
