Live from New York, It's John McCain

'Saturday Night Live' hosts GOP nominee in cameo appearance.

May 16, 2008— -- John McCain follows Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama and will make a cameo appearance on "Saturday Night Live" this weekend.

The presumptive nominee told reporters that he has talked to producer Lorne Michaels and the final decision will be made tomorrow on what skit he will do. McCain will attend rehearsals with the cast on Saturday afternoon, ABC News' Bret Hovell reports.

Set your Tivo/DVR -- Steve Carrell of "The Office" is the host and Usher is the musical guest.

McCain may want to avoid turning to one-time rival (and possible VP) Mike Huckabee for comedic material and advice before his appearance on Saturday Night Live.

The former Arkansas governor earned a reputation in the primary season for being quick on his feet and ready with a joke. But ABC News' Kevin Chupka reports that while speaking at the annual National Rifle Association Huckabee's attempt at humor was notably off-target.

During his speech a loud bang was heard off-stage. "That was Barack Obama," Huckabee quipped, "He just tripped off a chair. He was getting ready to speak. Somebody aimed a gun at him and he…he dove for the floor.'"

Take a look - and cringe - for yourself here.

Next Tuesday's primaries may not hold any wild cards. It looks like Barack Obama should win Oregon and Hillary Clinton should take Kentucky, based on polls out of both states and demographic that favor each in one state.

Don't want to take the polls as gospel? Take a look at the schedules for both candidates this weekend: Obama spends Saturday and Sunday in Oregon and Clinton spends both days in Kentucky.

The Obama family will be together this weekend on the campaign trail as Obama campaigns in Oregon. Also campaigning in the Beaver State will be Bill and Chelsea Clinton.

Superdelegate Watch

Barack Obama picked up one new superdelegate today and Hillary Clinton picked up zero.

Since Clinton's 41-point win in West Virginia on Tuesday, she has picked up one superdelegate while Obama has picked up 10 superdelegates.
