Chicago Cubs Fans Vote World Series More Important Than Presidential Election

U.S. presidency and World Series winner will both be determined in November.

— -- The United States presidency and the World Series winner will both be determined this November.

Until Sunday night, the team had not won a World Series game at Wrigley Field since 1945 when a tavern owner named William Sianis was turned away at the stadium gates because of the foul odor of his pet goat. The outraged Sianis allegedly protested by saying, “Them Cubs, they ain’t gonna win no more."

The win Sunday came after Cubs pitcher Aroldis Chapman managed to close the game for the first eight-out save of his big league career.
