Clinton Campaign Chief John Podesta's Twitter Account Hacked

The hack comes at the same time as WikiLeaks released Podesta's emails.

"We can confirm that John's Twitter account was hacked, which would explain the message you all disembarked from the plane and received," Merrill told reporters in Las Vegas, where Clinton is campaigning tonight. "We're working on fixing it."

Just before 8 p.m. ET, Podesta's account tweeted out: "I've switched teams.Vote Trump 2016.Hi pol"

The tweet was later deleted.

The campaign says they do not know who is behind the hack; however, the timing is notable.

The Clinton camp has blamed the hack on Russians, whom they believe are trying to influence the election.
