-- Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump dismissed derogatory comments he has made about women as “show business” and declared “nobody respects women more than I do.”
In an interview on Monday, CNN’s Wolf Blitzer confronted the New York real estate mogul with a video produced by the anti-Trump group, Our Principles PAC, highlighting a series of less than flattering remarks the GOP frontrunner has made about women over the years.
“First of all, half of that was show business,” Trump said. “Look, these politicians, I know them. They say far worse when they're in closed doors or where they're with a group of people that they trust. A lot of that is show business stuff.”
The minute-long video shows various women reading quotes attributed to Trump referring to women as “bimbo,” “dog,” and “fat pig,” among other things.
“It's show business,” Trump reiterated. “I don't even know some of those statements. I don't even know what they are. Nobody respects women more than I do.”
