Donald Trump Tweets 'Be Careful' at Hillary Clinton, Says He Will Beat Her 'Soundly'
The Trump vs. Clinton battle continues over the holiday.
-- Donald Trump has been battling the Hillary Clinton campaign with some very pointed remarks in recent days. But his recent tweet, sent right before they both temporarily left the campaign trail for the Christmas holiday, was a bit ominous.
“Hillary, When you complain about ‘a penchant for sexism,’ who are you referring to. I have great respect for women,” Trump wrote in a tweet on Wednesday evening. “BE CAREFUL,” he concluded.
At a campaign event in Michigan this week, Trump commented on Clinton's 2008 primary defeat, using a Yiddish term that has historically applied to male genitals. But Trump claimed he was using the term to say Clinton was beaten badly. He also talked about how he thought it was “disgusting” that Clinton used the restroom during last weekend’s Democratic debate. Clinton campaign staffers immediately took to social media to denounce these comments, categorizing them as vulgar and sexist.
Clinton declined to engage Trump’s comments explicitly, but in an interview with the Des Moines Register, she noted it wasn’t “the first time he’s demonstrated a penchant for sexism,” prompting Trump’s tweet.
It is unclear what Trump means by his tweet “be careful,” but several hours later he released another one directed at Clinton, referring to the “death and destruction she caused.”
Meanwhile in a series of Christmas Eve tweets, Trump called Clinton a "totally flawed candidate" and was looking forward to "beating her soundly."
The real estate mogul also said his idea to deport illegal immigrants affected policy.
