Insults Donald Trump Has Hurled at Convention Speakers Marco Rubio and Ted Cruz on Twitter
His former rivals Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio made brief appearances at the RNC.
-- Before Sens. Marco Rubio and Ted Cruz spoke at the 2016 Republican National Convention today, they were famously excoriated by Donald Trump on Twitter.
Trump nicknamed them "Little Marco" and "Lyin' Ted," respectively, and blasted them on the social media platform and on the debate stage throughout the primary campaign.
Here are a few highlights of his insults to Rubio and Cruz on Twitter:
Cruz was booed during his speech for failing to endorse Trump. He told delegates and voters to "vote your conscience" in November and never specifically said that people should cast their ballots for the Republican nominee.
Rubio, meanwhile, hit at Hillary Clinton in a pre-taped video played at the convention, saying "she turned her back on the fallen heroes in Benghazi and then she lied about it to the American people." He ended by calling on the party to unite. "It's time to win in November," he said.
