Joe Biden Mocks Donald Trump's Early-Morning Twitter Tirade
The vice president called Trump "dangerously uninformed."
-- Campaigning for Hillary Clinton in Orlando today, Vice President Joe Biden mocked Donald Trump’s recent early-morning tweet storm.
"You don't have to be a psychologist or psychiatrist. But, what kind of leader awakens at 3 o'clock in the morning and tweets Hillary helped 'disgusting Alicia M. become a U.S. citizen so she could use her in a debate'? Or 3:30 in the morning. This guy wants to be president of the United States of America," Biden said at at a voter registration event in Orlando.
Last week, the Republican presidential nominee turned to Twitter in the early morning hours to launch a tirade against former Miss Universe Alicia Machado, who has emerged as a prominent figure in the presidential race after Hillary Clinton mentioned her during the first presidential debate.
The vice president also took on Trump over foreign policy and the GOP nominee's comments about taxes during last week's debate.
"I honest-to-God don’t believe ever in the history of the United States of America has a major party candidate been less informed, dangerously uninformed, like he is," Biden said.
"The way he comports himself and the words he utters -- and I mean this with every fiber of my being -- are truly beneath the dignity of the office of the president of the United States," Biden later added.
Biden even suggested that he traveled to meet with the leaders of Latvia, Estonia and Lithuania to assuage their concerns over Trump.
"His threat not to protect the Baltic states against a Russian invasion of a NATO ally required me to go from Australia to meet with all three Baltic presidents -- Latvia, Estonia and Lithuania -- to tell them, and I’m being deadly earnest, to tell them, 'no, that is not only not our administration view, it’s not the view of any Republican except Donald Trump,'" Biden said.
The vice president offered advice to Hillary Clinton's campaign, saying, "We should start talking more about what we are going to do, where we are are, what the future is."
"Hillary is the only candidate who has any notion of what the immense opportunities are," Biden said. "I’m so sick and tired of hearing America talked down. She needs you, we need you. We need you to register to vote and get your friends to register to vote."
