Martin O’Malley Hints at ‘Bad Blood’ With Hillary Clinton
The band-leading presidential candidate covers Taylor Swift song on "The View."
-- Martin O’Malley appears to have a message for Hillary Clinton: It used to be mad love, but now they’ve got bad blood.
On ABC’s “The View” this morning, the Democratic presidential candidate took a page out of Taylor Swift’s songbook, performing her hit “Bad Blood.” The song is purportedly about friend-turned-foe Katy Perry, also a Hillary Clinton supporter.
“Katy Perry, I’m told, is doing like a benefit concert for one of my opponents in Iowa,” O’Malley, 52, said of Perry’s planned rally for Clinton. “So, in response, I thought I would offer this up for Taylor Swift.”
The former governor of Maryland, who plays guitar and sings lead vocals in his band, O’Malley’s March, then strummed the tune on his guitar and nearly nailed the song’s lyrics.
“‘Cause baby now we got bad blood, you know it used to be mad love, so take a look at what you’ve done, and baby now we got bad blood – hey!” O’Malley sang.
The hosts and audience joined in, clapping while singing, “Now we got problems, and I don’t think we can solve them. You made a really deep cut, and baby now we got bad blood – hey!”
