Martin O'Malley Iowa Campaign Event Draws Just 1 Attendee
The Democratic presidential candidate held his event in Iowa despite the snow.
-- Democratic presidential candidate Martin O’Malley held a Monday evening campaign event in the tiny town of Tama, Iowa. And with a powerful winter storm battering the Midwest, he might not have expected an enormous turnout.
Indeed, his event attracted just one person: Kenneth.
“I give you a lot of credit for coming out here,” Kenneth told the former Maryland governor, according to ABC affiliate WOI-TV producer Sarah Beckman, who didn't report Kenneth's last name. “I’m glad you took the time.”
O’Malley took it all in stride in an interview on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe.”
"The very last event of the night, we actually had a whopping total of one person show up," O’Malley said today."But, by God, he was glad to see me. So we spent the time with him."
Despite the circumstances, O’Malley apparently was unable to win Kenneth over, at least not yet.
“I'm working on him,” O'Malley said. “He claims he's still uncommitted.”
O'Malley continued: "But I was glad he took the time to come out in the snow to see me. We almost canceled that last event but we were out there anyways, so we plowed through."
