Melania Trump Will Share Her Experience Immigrating to the US in Campaign Speech

— -- In her first major campaign speech of the general election, Melania Trump, the wife of Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump, will tell voters about her experience growing up in Slovenia and what she hopes to accomplish as first lady if her husband is elected into office, according to Trump’s campaign manager.

"She'll talk about her life here and her life in Slovenia where she grew up," campaign manager Kellyanne Conway said on ABC’s “The View” in an interview today. "And the love of America when she was growing up and how it was not enough to just know about America, but she wanted to be an American and she waited ten years through the normal channels to immigrate."

Conway added, "She's written a beautiful speech and she's a wonderful person. I think people are very curious to hear what she has to say."

Melania Trump will deliver her speech in Berwyn, Pennsylvania, just five days before the election.

Last week, in an interview with ABC News, Donald Trump said his wife would be hitting the trail on his behalf.

"She's agreed to do two or three speeches. And I think it's going to be big speeches, important speeches," Trump said.

Melania Trump told ABC News’ George Stephanopoulos that she has been absent from the trail because "my priority is my son, Barron, our son, Barron." In that interview she also shared what her priorities would be as first lady.

"I will focus on helping children and women, and also about social media. In this 21st century, what's going on, it's very hurtful to children. To some adults as well, but we need to take care of children," she said.

Melania Trump’s address at the Republican National Convention in July drew controversy after a Trump campaign speechwriter admitted to lifting certain passages from Michelle Obama's 2008 address to the Democratic National Convention. The speechwriter later resigned.
