Obama to Deliver Eulogy at Beau Biden Funeral
Funeral services for the vice president's son scheduled for Saturday.
-- President Obama will deliver a eulogy at the funeral mass for his vice president's son, Beau Biden, the White House has announced.
Biden died Saturday at the age of 46 after a battle with brain cancer.
The office of Vice President Joe Biden said memorial services would commence Thursday in Dover, Delaware, the Biden family's home state.
Beau Biden, who served as Delaware attorney general, will lie in honor at Legislative Hall Thursday afternoon.
On Friday, the Biden family will host a private viewing for Beau at St. Anthony of Padua Roman Catholic Church in Wilmington, the vice president's office said.
A funeral mass will be held Saturday morning, when Obama is expected to attend before he departs for the G7 Summit in Germany later that evening.
The Biden family said in a statement they were directing gifts and donations in Beau's honor to the Beau Biden Foundation for the Protection of Children.
Beau Biden's death marks the first time in over 50 years that a sitting U.S. president or vice president has experienced the death of a child while in office.
