Mike Pence Says He 'Cannot Defend' Trump's Remarks in Videotape
Mike Pence no longer attending Paul Ryan's Wisconsin event.
— -- Donald Trump's running mate, Indiana Gov. Mike Pence, said in a statement that he "cannot defend" the presidential candidate's remarks about women in 2005 that were captured in a video released Friday.
The vice presidential candidate also alluded to Trump's debate with rival Hillary Clinton on Sunday night, saying he looks "forward to the opportunity he has to show what is in his heart when he goes before the nation tomorrow night.”
Pence said in his statement, “As a husband and father, I was offended by the words and actions described by Donald Trump in the eleven-year-old video released yesterday. I do not condone his remarks and cannot defend them. I am grateful that he has expressed remorse and apologized to the American people. We pray for his family and look forward to the opportunity he has to show what is in his heart when he goes before the nation tomorrow night.”
It came out earlier today that Pence, who was originally planning on filling in for Donald Trump at Rep. Paul Ryan's "Fall Fest" event in Milwaukee, will no longer be attending, sources told ABC News.

It was Pence's decision not to attend Ryan's event today; he was not disinvited, sources said.
