President Obama Makes Closing Argument: 'If We Win Florida, It's a Wrap'

KISSIMMEE, Florida— -- Stumping for Hillary Clinton in Florida two days out from Election Day, President Obama made his closing argument to the state that he said has the power to seal the deal for the Democratic nominee on Tuesday.

"If we win Florida it's a wrap," Obama told the audience gathered outside in Osceola County Stadium. "If we win Florida, it's over, so we've got to work our hearts out this week, these next two days, as if our future depends on it, because our future depends on it."

The president referred to some new New York Times reporting that aides to Donald Trump have wrested control of the Republican nominee's Twitter account in the final days of the campaign.

"They had so little confidence in his self-control, they said we're just going to take away your Twitter," Obama told the crowd. "Now if somebody can't handle a Twitter account, they can't handle the nuclear code. If somebody starts tweeting at 3 a.m. because 'SNL' made fun of him, then you can't handle the nuclear code."

The president also took issue with Trump for misrepresenting how he handled a Trump supporter who interrupted a speech he was giving last week in Fayetteville, North Carolina, saying it is an example of why Trump is uniquely unqualified to be president.

"Just a few hours later, Trump gets up on stage in front of his crowd. This was just a few hours later and he said 'Did you see how President Obama yelled at a Trump supporter in his audience?'" Obama said. "Just made it up! Didn't just make it up but said the exact opposite of what had happened -- with impunity. There was tape -- there was a video and some of the press called him out on it. But the point is that he thought it was OK just to lie in front of all his supporters -- on television."

At the North Carolina rally, the president told the crowd not to boo the protester and to respect his right to free speech. But Trump told a rally later that day that the president was "screaming at this protester" and called it a disgrace.

The president went on to make his case for Clinton, closing his remarks with a refrain from his own campaign lexicon.

"Choose hope, choose hope, choose hope, vote, elect Hillary Clinton," Obama told the crowd.

Prior to the president's arrival at the Sunday rally, famed singer Stevie Wonder provided musical entertainment.
