President Obama to Pay Respects to Justice Scalia at Supreme Court
Justice Antonin Scalia's body will lie in repose on Friday.
-- President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama will pay their respects to the late Justice Antonin Scalia at the Supreme Court on Friday.
“The president and the first lady on Friday will travel to the Supreme Court to pay their respects to Justice Scalia as he lies in repose there at the Supreme Court,” White House press secretary Josh Earnest announced at Wednesday’s daily briefing.
Earnest indicated that the president will not attend the funeral mass scheduled for Saturday at the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception.
“I can tell you that Vice President Biden and Dr. Jill Biden will attend Justice Scalia's funeral at the Basilica on Saturday," Earnest said.
Scalia died at a resort in Texas last Saturday at the age of 79.
