Rochester Mayor Places Tribute to Clinton at Susan B. Anthony's Grave

The sign thanks Anthony for paving the way to the nomination of Clinton.

Clinton officially became the first female candidate for president of any major party on Tuesday, and Warren highlighted the connection between her achievement and the road paved for her by Anthony, the social reformer and feminist who helped shape the success of the women's suffrage movement.

Visitors of the grave are permitted to sign the letter. In April, the Washington Post reported that Clinton backers covered Anthony's grave with stickers that read "I voted" in celebration of her primary win in New York state.
