Sarah Palin's Most Memorable Lines of Trump Endorsement Speech
Sarah Palin made quite a splash in Iowa tonight.
-- Sarah Palin is back.
The 2008 Republican vice presidential candidate and former Alaska governor jumped into the 2016 fray today. endorsing frontrunner Donald Trump at a rally in Iowa, with less than two weeks to go until the Iowa caucuses.
And, as expected, she made a splash, even invoking some of her most memorable rhetoric from 2008. Here are (some) of her best lines from what will likely be many campaign events this cycle.
“You betcha I’ll serve"Palin has often employed the line “you betcha” and she used it again as part of her explanation for why she is supporting Trump even though she knows it would mean inevitable media attention. “You guys haven't tried to do that every day since that night in '08 when I was on stage nominated for VP and I got to say yeah, I'll go. Send me. You betcha, I'll serve. And like you all I'm still standing,” she said.
“No more pussy-footing around”This is what Palin believes will happen when Trump becomes President. “Only one candidate's record of success proves he is the master of the art of the deal. He is beholden to no one but we the people. How refreshing. He's perfectly positioned to let you make America great again. Are you ready for that, Iowa? No more pussy-footing around.”
“Drill, baby, drill” Palin invoked one of her infamous lines from 2008 -- but this time it was a reference to the establishment, not oil. “No, we're not going to chill. In fact, It's time to drill, baby, drill down and hold these folks accountable and we need to stop the self-sabotage and elect a new and independent candidate who represents that.”
“Kick ISIS' a**” Ted Cruz has talked about how he would “carpet-bomb” ISIS, while President Obama and several administration officials have likened the group to a cancer. But Palin laid out Trump’s objectives the most candidly, saying the country needs “a commander in chief that will let their warriors do their job and go kick ISIS' a**”.
