Coming Up on 'This Week': Condoleezza Rice
Secretary of State on the Mumbai attacks, her tenure, and Sen. Hillary Clinton.
Dec. 5, 2008 -- She's the woman who has had President George W. Bush's ear since he took office, first as his National Security Advisor, and then as his Secretary of State.
George speaks with outgoing Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, who is fresh from her trip overseas where she made an unscheduled visit to India to offer American support after the Mumbai terror attacks, and her piano performance for Queen Elizabeth at Buckingham Palace.
We'll talk to Secretary Rice about the U.S. investigation into the attacks, the fight against international terrorism, and the state of diplomatic relations between India and Pakistan.
We'll also ask about her tenure in the Bush administration, the challenges facing President-elect Barack Obama's pick for the State Department, Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton, D-N.Y., and the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.
And. . . George will speak with Ron Gettelfinger, President of the United Automobile Workers. The union said this week it would make major concessions in its contracts to help the Big Three automakers lobby Congress for $34 billion in federal aid.
