Ted Cruz on Possibly Being Donald Trump's Running Mate: 'It Ain't Gonna Happen'

The Texas senator discussed a host of issues at an MSNBC town hall.

The Texas senator didn’t shy away from discussing North Carolina's House Bill 2 that was signed into law last month, which banned people from using bathrooms that don't match the sex indicated on their birth certificate.

"I told you I'm not going to get into the labels, but what I will say is we should protect life," Cruz said. "But I'm not interested in anything that restricts birth control."

"If I'm elected president, I think I will work very, very closely with leaders in Congress because it's a very different thing," Cruz said.

He added, "I think we will see Washington responsive to the people in a way it hasn't been since the 1980s."
