Ted Cruz's Wife Heidi Picks Her Husband's Impersonation She Likes Best
The Republican presidential candidate has a thing for "The Simpsons" characters.
-- Sen. Ted Cruz's love of movies is evident in some of his more off-the-cuff moments on the campaign trail, but he also has a knack for impersonating characters from “The Simpsons.”
During today's "Good Morning America" town hall, he and his wife, Heidi, were shown a series of Buzzfeed impressions that he performed earlier in the campaign.
When asked to name her favorite, Heidi Cruz picked his impression of Lisa Simpson, the cartoon family's known vegetarian, because they have something in common.
"Being a vegetarian," Heidi Cruz said, she found that to be her favorite. She also saw commonalities between her husband and Homer Simpson, who extols the deliciousness of bacon and sausage.
Heidi Cruz said she is familiar with "having my meat-eating, Latin husband" explain the virtues of meat.
One notable impression that Cruz said he doesn't have in his repertoire: his Republican rival, Donald Trump.
“He’s one of a kind and I’m glad to leave it at that,” Cruz said.
On other light notes, the couple said they regularly take their two young daughters to California Pizza Kitchen on Friday nights while they save date night for Sunday night, which tends to be at a sushi restaurant.
