5 Things to Know About Tiffany Trump Before Her Republican National Convention Address
Here are five things to know about the lesser-known Trump daughter.
-- Donald Trump’s 22-year-old daughter, Tiffany Trump, will take the stage tonight on Day Two of the Republican National Convention in Cleveland to deliver her first speech of the campaign season.
Unlike her older sister, Ivanka Trump, Tiffany Trump rarely gives interviews and largely shied away from the spotlight on her father’s presidential campaign until now. Here are five things to know about the lesser-known Trump daughter:
1. She is Donald Trump’s daughter from his second marriage.
Tiffany Trump is the only child from the celebrity businessman’s six-year marriage to actress and TV personality Marla Maples. That makes her the half-sister of the elder Trump kids — Donald Trump Jr., Ivanka Trump and Eric Trump, whose mother is Donald Trump’s first wife, former model Ivana Trump. Tiffany Trump is also a half-sister of Barron Trump, the son of Donald Trump’s third wife, former model Melania Trump.
Tiffany Trump grew up in California with her mother, and the two are reportedly very close.
2. She graduated from her father’s alma mater
Tiffany Trump graduated in May from the University of Pennsylvania, where she studied at the School of Arts and Sciences and is a member of the Kappa Alpha Theta sorority. She graduated in the same class as Joe Biden's granddaughter Naomi Biden.
Donald Trump graduated from the college’s prestigious Wharton School of Business in 1968. The presumptive Republican presidential nominee has sent two of his other children, Donald Trump Jr. and Ivanka Trump, to the Ivy League school as well.
3. She’s a recording artist
In 2014, when she was 17, Tiffany Trump released a single called “Like a Bird." Earlier that year, she said in an interview with Oprah Winfrey that music is “a big passion.”
“It’s always been very dear to me. It’s a big passion. It’s more of a hobby right now, but we’ll see in a couple of years if I want to take it to the next level as a professional,” Tiffany Trump told Winfrey on “Where Are They Now?”
4. She interned at Vogue
Tiffany Trump landed a coveted internship at the magazine — reportedly with a little help from her older sister, Ivanka Trump, a fashion mogul.
“She would go to work at 5:30 a.m. and even got to have lunch with Anna Wintour,” Ivanka Trump told The Daily Mail in 2013.
5. She’s dating a Democrat
Tiffany Trump has been dating her boyfriend, Ross Mechanic, a student at the University of Pennsylvania, for several months, according to photos posted on Instagram by the couple. The two have posted photos together on vacations, at her graduation and at her father’s Mar-a-Lago Club in Florida, among other places.
Mechanic and his father, mother and older brother are all registered Democrats, according to The Daily Mail, which cited public records. But so far, politics hasn’t torn these two apart.
