VP Hopeful Mike Pence at Homecoming Rally: 'I'm Going to Take Hoosier Ideals to Washington'

Donald Trump's newly-minted running mate spoke at a homecoming rally in Indiana.

"My fellow Hoosiers, I'm here to announce that today in New York City, I accepted Donald Trump's invitation to run and serve as Vice President of the United States of America," Pence said during a homecoming rally late Saturday afternoon at the Indianapolis Executive Airport in Zionsville, Indiana. "My family and I couldn’t be more humbled -- couldn't be more humbled and honored by the confidence that our nominee and his family have placed in us."

Pence urged his constituents to vote for Trump in November. "Let's make Indiana the first state on the board to make Donald Trump the 45th president of the United States," he said, "and send another Hoosier to the vice president's office."
