With the help of a sociologist, Roberts held her own version of the famous 1939 “doll test. ” The results were sobering as the group of diverse young girls overwhelmingly chose a white, blonde doll as their perception of what is beautiful, even though that very day Lupita Nyong’o, a dark skinned, award-winning actress topped People magazine's “Most Beautiful” list.
In the midst of the flashpoint over Ferguson, Martha Raddatz took This Week viewers to the epicenter of the turmoil in the St. Louis suburb, traveling to the street corner where Michael Brown was killed. The special broadcast included insightful interviews with the Missouri governor, a representative of the National Organization of Black Law Enforcement and the attorney for Michael Brown’s family.
