Hitting New Season Highs, “The View” Draws Its Most-Watched Week Since February and Its Strongest Performances In Both Key Women Demos Since March

“The View” Delivers Its Two Top Telecasts of the Season

ABC’s “The View” averaged 2.944 million Total Viewers, 592,000 Women 25-54 and 453,000 Women 18-49 during the week of January 4, 2016, based on Live +Same Day Data from Nielsen Media Research.  “The View” outdelivered CBS’ “The Talk” by its widest margin of the season in Women 18-49 (+28,000 – 453,000 vs. 425,000).

For the 2nd week in a row, “The View” delivered double-digit increases week-to-week (2.640 million, 529,000 and 365,000, respectively, on w/o 12/28/15) in Total Viewers (+12%), Women 25-54 (+12%) and Women 18-49 (+24%).  Hitting new season highs across the board, “The View” drew its most-watched week since February and its strongest performances in both key Women demos since March – since weeks of 2/23/15 and 3/16/15, respectively.

“The View” improved on the same week last year in Total Viewers (+2% - 2.944 million vs. 2.876 million on w/o 1/5/15).

“The View” delivered its two top telecasts of the season on Thursday (3.146 million on 1/7/16) and Monday (3.071 million on 1/4/16).  In fact, the Thursday airing marked “The View’s” most-watched watched telecast in over 10 months – since 2/26/15.

Compared to its performance during the 2015 November Sweep (2.591 million, 526,000 and 388,000, respectively), “The View” outdelivered the month in all key target demos: Total Viewers (+353,000), Women 25-54 (+66,000) and Women 18-49 (+65,000).
