GMA’S “40 FOR 40” MARATHON EVENT LAUNCHES NOVEMBER 17 AT 5PM ET AT TIMES SQUARE STUDIO .
-- “Good Morning America” anchors Robin Roberts and George Stephanopoulos kick off GMA’s “40 for 40,” with the latest news and non-stop coverage of the tragic Paris attacks. The 40-hour continuous live broadcast in honor of the morning show’s 40th anniversary launches in Times Square Studios in New York City on Tuesday, November 17th at 5pm ET. GMA’s “40 for 40” will be streamed live on ABCNews.com/GMA40, Facebook, YouTube Live, ABC News’ mobile, tablet and OTT apps, Yahoo.com, ABC.com and the Watch ABC App with portions of the event streamed live on ESPN.com, the Watch ESPN app, Marvel.com and participating local affiliate websites for broadcast and radio.
Throughout the unprecedented 40-hour event ABC News anchors and correspondents from around the globe will bring viewers hourly updates on the catastrophic attacks in Paris. The entire first hour of the broadcast will be dedicated to bringing viewers the latest developments on the war on terror from Paris and around the world. “World News Tonight” Anchor David Muir along with Foreign Correspondent Alex Marquardt are on the ground in Paris with the latest developments; Chief Foreign Correspondent Terry Moran brings viewers critical debriefs as the manhunt for the ISIS members at large continues; Chief Investigative Correspondent Brian Ross reports from New York City on the United States’ response and how to protect against an attack at home; Chief Global Affairs Correspondent Martha Raddatz will be in the Middle East on the front lines of the war against ISIS. Raddatz will be reporting on the renewed fight against the terrorists, from some of the territories recaptured from ISIS and meeting those who have fled for their lives.
GMA’s “40 for 40” non-stop marathon is jam packed with a wide array of guests, news segments and familiar ABC News faces joining from coast to coast and abroad. Chief Anchor George Stephanopoulos anchors a politics-filled hour featuring updates from Paris, the latest from the presidential campaign trail, a special edition of the powerhouse roundtable and many surprise guests. Robin Roberts takes us down memory lane in a special “GMA Icons” hour featuring favorite anchors including Joan Lunden, David Hartman, Charles Gibson, Spencer Christian, Sam Champion and more. Lara Spencer brings us behind the scenes with One Direction as we countdown to the highly anticipated exclusive concert in Los Angeles. Chief Meteorologist Ginger Zee along with Senior Meteorologist Rob Marciano bring viewers a weather packed hour and take viewer questions via Twitter and Facebook in a special edition of “Ask Zee & Marciano.” Amy Robach checks-in with correspondents across the country and brings us live behind the scenes at “Dancing with the Stars” rehearsals in Los Angeles; to the red carpet premiere of Marvel’s Jessica Jones! in New York City; and up close and personal in an exclusive interview with actress Drew Barrymore. Michael Strahan shares some of his rules for success from his book "Wake Up Happy" with special guest appearances by Fox NFL Sunday's Jay Glazer, his trainer Latreal Mitchell, magician Dan White, and acclaimed baker Dominique Ansel.
Plus, music superstars Pitbull, Celine Dion, One Direction and Gloria Estefan join the unprecedented marathon along with Zendaya who takes viewers behind the scenes of her Disney Channel show “K.C. Undercover.” Famed chef Gordon Ramsey cooks up a midnight snack, the men of “Nashville,” Jonathan Jackson, Clare Bowen, and Chris Carmack host a watch party during their hit show live from the Grand Ole Opry and much more.
Throughout the marathon, ABC anchors and correspondents will bring viewers live content, interviews, events and more from our virtual studio in New York City. Nightline anchors Juju Chang and Dan Harris, Chief Health and Medical Editor Dr. Richard Besser, ABC Correspondents TJ Holmes, Sara Haines, Rebecca Jarvis, Reena Ninan, Kendis Gibson and many more familiar faces will be stopping by the studio at all hours of the day and night! Additionally, we livestream from the GMA 4040 Express Bus where Nick Watt will be making stops in Chicago, Detroit, Cleveland, Cincinnati, Columbus, Pittsburgh and Philadelphia with many surprises along the way.
