Lana Zak becomes a Multi-Platform Reporter for ABC News

— -- DC Bureau Chief and Executive Producer of “This Week with George Stephanopoulos” Jonathan Greenberger sent the following note to the news division this morning announcing that Lana Zak has become a Multi-Platform Reporter for ABC News.

DC Team –

Over the past several months, our Multi-Platform Reporter team has distinguished itself by reporting for all platforms on the biggest stories to hit Washington and the nation, including June’s landmark Supreme Court rulings, the Charleston church tragedy, the Chattanooga recruiting center shootings, and the 2016 campaign.

Today, it is with great pleasure that I announce Lana Zak as the newest member of this versatile and talented group. Lana will join Karen Travers, Mary Bruce, Bazi Kanani, Kenneth Moton and Stephanie Ramos in reporting and creating engaging, immediate and accessible content for television, radio, digital and social media.

Lana is an outstanding and award-winning reporter and producer. She began her career with ABC News as an anchor producer for Diane Sawyer at "Good Morning America.” Most recently, she has served as a coordinating producer for ABC’s Specialized Units. Lana has been integral to ABC’s coverage of many of the most important stories of the last several years, including the shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary, Diane Sawyer’s exclusive interview with Jaycee Dugard, the cholera crisis in Haiti, and the shooting and subsequent recovery of Rep. Gabrielle Giffords. As a correspondent, Lana has reported from Korea, Hong Kong, South Africa and throughout the United States.  Recently she reported live for NewsOne and its affiliates on the Philadelphia train derailment, American Pharaoh’s Triple Crown win, and the Ebola outbreak.

Lana's passion for adventure and her international experience will be a welcome addition to this entrepreneurial team. Their hunger and results in such a short period of time is very promising and contributes immensely to ABC News' superb newsgathering and storytelling.

Please join me in congratulating Lana and the entire Multi-Platform Reporter team.
