title: Jada Pinkett Smith Reveals Past Addiction, Revels in Hope
text: Go on, girl! A-list mom Jada Pinkett Smith took to Facebook during her birthday week to air out some of her past mistakes and look forward to the future. The superstar mom, who turned 42 Sept. 18, addressed her fans in a post Wednesday about past addiction and personal growth.
"I had many addictions, of several kinds, to deal with my life issues," she wrote. "But today, at 42, I have my wisdom, my heart and my conscience as the only tools to overcome life's inevitable obstacles. I have become a good problem-solver with those tools, and I am damn proud."

title: Death From Above as Eagle Attacks Deer
text: For every hundred oh-so-cute stories of inter-species best buds, one of these pops up. In a photo released by the Journal of Raptor Research and by the Wildlife Conservation Society, a golden eagle is seen attacking a sika deer in eastern Russia. The image was published in the Journal of Raptor Research by Linda Kerley of the Zoological Society of London, who found the deer carcass then checked her footage.
The haunting image should keep The Social Climber's eyes on the sky next time she's hiking through Siberia.

title: Could Brett Favre Play Again?
text: It's pretty unlikely that 43-year-old former NFL quarterback Brett Farve will be making a comeback on the field, but that hasn't stopped his agent from talking up his client.
"Today, he could play today," Bus Cook said Monday night, via the Mobile Press-Register. "I saw him the other day. He's in the best shape I've ever seen him in, physically."
To be fair, Farve is coaching at the high school level and the team is undefeated, Cook brags. The Social Climber has decided not to hold her breath.

title: Amanda Bynes Headed to Mental Health Court
text: Amanda Bynes did not appear in court Tuesday for an April 2012 incident in which she allegedly hit a police car with her BMW. But her attorney told E! News that he asked the court to look at the 27-year-old's mental capacity.
"The mental health court will examine Bynes and determine her competency to stand trial," Richard Hutton said.
A Los Angeles judge has referred the case to the court's mental health division, where it will be decided whether Bynes is fit to stand trial. The actress pleaded not guilty last year to the driving under the influence charge.

title: Phil Hartman Remembered on Canada's Walk of Fame
text: Saturday was a sad day of remembrance in the Great White North, as legendary comic genius Phil Hartman was remembered with the Cineplex Legends Award at Toronto's Ed Mirvish Theatre. The star, who you might remember from such shows as "Saturday Night Live" and "The Simpsons" and tragically died in 1998, was also inducted into Canada's Walk of Fame as part of a four-day festival honoring Canada's shining stars. We truly miss you, Phil.
