His colorful and unfiltered personality has made him one of the biggest characters at the World Cup.

While the Mexican team played brilliantly against Croatia Monday in Recife, Herrera was on the sidelines, cheering every goal with a passion fit for a telenovela.

Sweaty and appearing to be misty-eyed, Herrera jumped up and down with glee while shouting. He simultaneously moved to embrace Mexico's goalkeeper, Guillermo Ochoa, but a hug wouldn't suit.

Instead the coach swept Ochoa off his feet.

That emotion spilled over onto Twitter after the game, where Herrera, who tweets in Spanish, expressed his excitement with 13 exclamation marks.

Herrera isn't shy about sharing his off-field shenanigans -- from fishing trips to posting a photo with American football quarterback Tom Brady. Herrera has even claimed that the New England Patriots star asked him for the photo.
