Referee Greg Burks drew attention on social media during Monday’s Ohio State-Oregon game for his resemblance to the “Elf” star. Burks and his crew normally work Big 12 games.
Newhart found humor in the situation.
“Hey, I don’t have a series any more – I had to do something,” he wrote.
