Cards, Patrick Peterson reach deal

— -- The Arizona Cardinals have agreed on a five-year contract extension with Pro Bowl cornerback Patrick Peterson, the team announced Tuesday night.

Peterson took to Twitter to comment on the details of the deal:

The deal will make Peterson the highest-paid cornerback in the league, topping the extensions signed recently by the Cleveland Browns' Joe Haden (five years, $68 million) and Seattle Seahawks' Richard Sherman (four years, $56 million).
