No drivers penalized for Texas fracas

— -- NASCAR has penalized crew members, not drivers Brad Keselowski or Jeff Gordon for Sunday's post-race incident at Texas Motor Speedway.

In addition,  Kenny Francis, crew chief of Kasey Kahne 's team, and Alan Gustafson, Gordon's crew chief, have each been fined $50,000 and placed on NASCAR probation through the next six Sprint Cup races.

Jeremy Fuller, a crew member with Kahne's team, along with Dwayne Doucette and Jason Ingle, crew members for Gordon, each have been fined $25,000 and suspended from NASCAR through the completion of the next six Sprint Cup races.

Hendrick Motorsports said it would not appeal, and the punished team members would not face further sanctions from the organization.

The incident that caused the fracas came from Keselowski's bid to squeeze his car through a gap between Gordon and Jimmie Johnson after a restart in the closing laps of the race. Gordon's tire went flat from the contact and he eventually spun out.

After the race, an irate Gordon stopped his car right by Keselowski and confronted him. There were plenty of punches thrown, with NASCAR officials in the middle of crew members and others around Keselowski's No. 2 car.

It seemed the only contact among drivers was when Kevin Harvick shoved Keselowski in the back to push him into the melee, and Gordon briefly appeared to grab hold of Keselowski's firesuit.

All the punches thrown appeared to come from crew members -- including a member of Gordon teammate Kahne's team who appeared to land several shots on Keselowski from behind.
