Mets GM says Matt Harvey absence from workout unexcused

— -- NEW YORK -- New York Mets ace Matt Harvey missed a mandatory team workout Tuesday at Citi Field, general manager Sandy Alderson said.

Alderson said he had no information as to the reason for Harvey's absence, which was not excused by the team.

Harvey is scheduled to pitch Game 3 of the National League Division Series against the Los Angeles Dodgers on Monday, when the series shifts to Queens.

"Until we find out a little more about his absence, I prefer not to comment," Alderson said.

Agent Scott Boras did not immediately reply to an inquiry about Harvey's absence.
