NA LCS spring finals to be held in Vegas

— -- For the first time in the North American LCS's history, the spring season champions will be crowned outside of Los Angeles. The NA LCS circuit will be taking its seasonal finale to Sin City, as the top two teams will face off on April 17 to crown a champion inside the Mandalay Bay Events Center.

The entire weekend will belong to League of Legends in Las Vegas, with the third-place match going down on Saturday, April 16, one day before the grand finals. The same format as last year will apply: The winner of the NA LCS spring championship will automatically qualify for Riot's Mid-Season Invitational as the representative from its region. The North American spring champion will go on to meet the victors from the Chinese, Korean, European and Taiwanese regions and the winner from the International Wildcard tournament.

Along with a championship on the line, circuit points will be up for grabs in Vegas. While the winner of that Sunday's finals will get the trophy and the qualification for MSI, Saturday's matinee third-place match could be the difference between making the 2016 World Championship and missing it entirely.

The circuit points for the season's finals are:

  • 1st place: 90 points and will represent NA at MSI 2016
  • 2nd place: 70 points
  • 3rd place: 50 points
  • 4th place: 30 points
  • The NA LCS Spring Grand Finals will begin immediately following the completion of the European LCS Spring Finals on April 17 at 12:00 p.m. PT/3:00 p.m. ET. The third-place match will occur at the same time on April 16.
