Raiders QB Aidan O'Connell carted off vs. Bucs with knee injury

Las Vegas Raiders quarterback  Aidan O'Connell was carted off the field late in the third quarter Sunday at Tampa Bay with what the team announced as a knee injury.

O'Connell had his left leg placed in an air cast after coming down awkwardly following a seemingly late hit from behind by  Buccaneers defensive tackle Calijah Kancey.

Desmond Ridder, signed off the Arizona Cardinals' practice squad on Oct. 22, replaced O'Connell and was the only other quarterback active for the Raiders. Receiver Jakobi Meyers is the team's emergency quarterback.

Gardner Minshew, who began the season as the Raiders' starter, suffered a season-ending broken collarbone two weeks ago.

It was O'Connell's second start since coming off injured reserve. He suffered a broken thumb on his right (passing) hand on Oct. 20.

O'Connell completed 11 of 19 passes for 104 yards with an interception against the Bucs.
