Richard Sherman Won Thanksgiving by Shutting Down the 49ers (Again)
The Seattle Seahawks cornerback earned his turkey dinner.
-- Richard Sherman shares a deep rivalry with the San Francisco 49ers.
The Seattle Seahawks cornerback is best known for his outburst after the NFC Championship Game in January, when he made a key deflection against the 49ers, then screamed in a post-game interview, yelling, “I’m the best corner in the game … Don’t you ever talk about me!”
Sherman was at it again Thursday. The NFC Western Division rivals faced off, but this time, Sherman didn’t have to say a word.
During the third quarter, with Seattle leading 19-3, San Francisco quarterback Colin Kaepernick rolled out and tossed the ball in Sherman’s direction. Sherman made the key interception, his second of the game.
He danced with the ball, hopping around the field like a jackrabbit. And then he held his finger to his mouth, silencing the crowd, before waving goodbye to San Francisco’s chances.
The win snapped Seattle’s five-game losing streak on San Francisco’s home field. After the game, Sherman dug into a Thanksgiving spread, a feast for the victor.
