Seahawks Mascot Commits Personal Foul, Perches on Fan's Head
Taima the augur hawk usually flies directly to a trainer, but not this time.
— -- Some Seattle Seahawks fans got a bit ruffled Sunday when the team’s mascot - a large hawk complete with talons - flew into the stands.
Taima, an augur hawk, flew away from her handler on the sidelines, landing on one fan’s head – and perching on another fan’s shoulder.
People seated nearby captured images of the bird.
Taima represents a Seahawks tradition, flying out of the tunnel ahead of the team since 2005. Normally Taima flies to trainer David Knutson, not into the stands.
Seattle wasn’t deterred by Taima’s pre-game offsides fowl - ah foul. They beat the New York Giants 38-17.
