Sources: Lakers nearing deal for Wizards' Rui Hachimura
The Los Angeles Lakers are in the final stages of completing a deal to acquire Washington Wizards forward Rui Hachimura for a package that includes three second-round picks and guard Kendrick Nunn, sources told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.
The Lakers and Wizards are still finalizing the second-round picks in the deal, a conversation that's included a 2023 second-round pick via Chicago and L.A.'s own in 2029, sources said. The Lakers have seven second-round picks available to include in a trade.
Hachimura, the No. 9 overall pick in the 2019 NBA draft, is averaging 13 points and 4.3 rebounds this season.
Hachimura, 24, and the Wizards were unable to agree on a rookie extension prior to the season and a trade became more likely as Kyle Kuzma solidified himself as a priority for Washington to sign to a long-term deal.
