Fans and sports stars share outpouring of grief over Stuart Scott’s death.

— -- Fans of longtime ESPN anchor Stuart Scott -- including President Barack Obama and NBA star LeBron James -- took to social media today to share their grief and admiration for Scott following his death after a protracted battle with cancer.

Scott leaves behind daughters Taelor, 19, and Sydni, 15; his parents, O. Ray and Jacqueline Scott; three siblings and girlfriend Kristin Spodobalski. He was 49.

He was first diagnosed with cancer in November 2007 and endured recurrences of the disease.

The news saddened Stuart's fans, including many of the sports stars he covered from the anchor chair.
