Strength of East questioned

— -- It's not just fans and analysts who are noticing that the Eastern Conference is hurting.

With only two East teams with winning records, one team in the competitive West is wondering about a transfer.

The Trail Blazers tweeted this on Wednesday:

Is it too late to join the Eastern Conference? Asking for a friend. ,

@trailblazers We asked you to keep that on the down low. That eager to get rid of us already?

,

@Suns Well played

Hey @trailblazers: Pass this on to your "friend" http://t.co/n3QDMRE74O

The surprising Blazers lead the West with a 15-3 record. But the Suns (9-9) are in 12th place in the Western Conference with a record that'd be good for a tie for third in the East.

So, naturally, the Suns tweeted back at the Blazers:

@trailblazers We asked you to keep that on the down low. That eager to get rid of us already?

— Phoenix Suns (@Suns) December 4, 2013

To which the Blazers responded:

@Suns Well played

The  Atlanta Hawks jumped into the mix after their 107-97 win over the Los Angeles Clippers Wednesday night, sending a tweet to the Blazers:
