Jacobson, 27, won the World Series of Poker’s no-limit Texas Hold 'Em main event in Las Vegas Tuesday, winning on a hand of three 10s to opponent Felix Stephensen’s pair of 9s to earn the $10 million prize.

Jacobson, a native of Sweden, has been playing professionally for the past six years, getting his start in online poker – effort that culminated Tuesday in his first World Series of Poker bracelet. Here are five things to know about the poker world’s newest champion:

1. He Aspired to be a Chef

The Stockholm native and London resident aspired to be a chef and planned to move to Barcelona. He wanted to eventually serve as a top chef at a three-star restaurant, but after a promised job offer fell through, he focused more heavily on poker.

2. He Enjoys Sports Betting

According to his website, he bets mainly on tennis and mixed martial arts.

3. He’s Health-Conscious

Jacobson lists physical training and nutrition among his hobbies and incorporates yoga and reiki meditation into his lifestyle, according to an interview with the website Gambling911.com.

4. He Was an Underdog

Jacobson entered the main event final table eighth (of nine players) in chip count, but outlasted his “November Nine” competition during 16 hours of play.

5. He’s Philosophical

Prior to his big win in Las Vegas, Jacobson – who had some big finishes, but no major wins before Tuesday – reflected on his journey. “Luck is what happens when preparation meets opportunity,” he wrote before earning the coveted bracelet.
