Video shows UFC welterweight Mike Perry hitting man in Texas bar

UFC fighter Mike Perry was caught on video Tuesday night punching a man at a bar and using racial slurs in a video that surfaced on social media.

Perry, a UFC welterweight, appeared to strike an older man during a dispute that included at least one employee asking Perry to leave. In the video, which was posted Wednesday night, Perry argued that another patron of the restaurant -- not the man he seemed to hit -- had touched him.

The incident occurred at Table 82 in Lubbock, Texas, ESPN confirmed with sources Wednesday. TMZ was the first to report the locale. A spokesperson for the establishment, when reached Wednesday, declined comment.

In the aftermath of the skirmish, Perry could be heard shouting several racial slurs. Perry, who is white, uses the N-word, but the UFC has never announced discipline for Perry's language.

Officers from the Lubbock Police Department responded to the scene, a law enforcement spokesperson told ESPN. An incident report was filed, but Perry was not arrested and no charges have been filed. An investigation is currently pending, the spokesperson said.

Perry tweeted Wednesday night, "No comment," after the video made the rounds on social media. His management team, when reached by ESPN, said "currently no comment" on the matter.

Perry (14-6), a Florida resident, just competed at UFC Fight Night on June 27, beating Mickey Gall by unanimous decision. The fight drew scrutiny, because Perry had no coaches in his corner. His lone corner person was his girlfriend, Latory Gonzalez. The victory over Gall snapped a two-fight losing streak.

Perry, 28, has been open about spending six months in a Florida jail for a probation violation in the past. Perry was on probation on a burglary charge in 2014, when he violated the probation with a battery arrest, according to court records. Perry also pleaded no contest to a battery charge in 2013 in Florida, per court records.
