TechBytes: Barnes & Noble's Nook Kids

Kindle book lending, Sony Walkman retired.

Oct. 25, 2010— -- Barnes & Noble is looking to win over the next generation of eReaders. The bookseller is launching Nook Kids, a digital collection of more than 12,000 books, including picture books, novels and enhanced editions of classics.

The titles will be available using a Nook Kids app for the iPad and other devices, according to the Wall Street Journal.

Sony Walkman Retired

It's the end of an era for one revolutionary music device. Sony has stopped making the cassette Walkman. The final batch shipped earlier this year. Sony has sold about 200 million Walkman since they went on sale in 1979.
